The Animal Haven’s number one priority is to match homeless
cats and dogs with appropriate families. Our staff carefully fits
the pet’s personality with the expectations of the responsible
adopter. People from 39-Connecticut towns and cities adopted 193
pets in 2002. Many people adopt from us because of our honesty,
integrity and reputation for the last 55 years. The Animal Haven
promotes responsible pet ownership and the principle of a friend
for life.
A veterinarian immediately examines all animals that enter The
Animal Haven. These pets get a complete health check, all vaccinations
and are spayed or neutered. Because we have a no-kill shelter,
there is no time limit on their stay at The Animal Haven. The kennel
assistants rehabilitate and start basic obedience training for
those pets that need it. All animals get love, attention and respect
from the staff and volunteers.

Please check out these special pets!
Success Stories
Hi The Animal Haven,
Deanne is doing great! She's really handling moving to our house extremely well. She's such a love, always coming to each family member to be petted. She even is consoling our son while he's been sick. She's still getting used to the house and the "noises" but overall doing fabulous!
Here are a couple of pictures. I'm sure I'll be sending more soon!
Take care,
Audrey Velez

Old Girl

As people walk by
I think, it's my night
I'm a good girl
I'll be your friend
I'll protect your family
I'll be loyal to the end...(
