We are looking for dedicated people to help with fundraising and events. All we ask is a few hours a month. Throughout the year, The Animal Haven hosts events to raise money for the shelter. The 2018 schedule is in the works and will be posted here when ready.
In the meantime, please peruse the list of ways you can help the shelter raise money. If you are interested in supporting the shelter in any of the ways mentioned below, we want to hear about it! Please email Linda.

Spend a Few Hours at a Local Pet Partner Store 


We are looking for people who can man our info table for a few hours on a Sat or Sun at local pet partner stores: Petco North Haven, Agway of North Haven, Choice Pet Supply of North Haven. We provide material and training.

Host a Fundraiser to Benefit The Animal Haven

Have an event that we should know about? Want us to attend one of your events? Whether it’s a lemonade stand or an evening gala, our supporters have been pretty creative in coming up with fun ideas to raise money for the cats and dogs in our care.

The Animal Haven is a participating  shelter in Bissell’s Partner for Pets program. When you purchase pet products on and enter the code ADOPT at checkout, a portion of your purchase will be donated to our rescue. Thank you to all who supported The Animal Haven’s Walk-a-dog-a-thon Sunday, Oct 22!

It was a beautiful, sunny day. A special shout out to the volunteer students from Quinnipiac University and our volunteers who brought our adoptable dogs to the event. And, to all of our sponsors. Advance registration of $25 includes receipt of a long sleeve t-shirt

Please ask your friends, co-workers and family members to support you and The Animal Haven by sponsoring your 1 mile walk for $10, $20 or more.

About the event: Walk-A-Dog-Athon is the Animal Haven’s primary fundraising event each year.
Our goal is to raise much needed funds for the shelter’s operating and veterinary care expenses.
This event helps The Animal Haven save the lives of over 300 homeless pets each year.

Dancing with the QU Stars flyer

A HUGE Thank You goes out to the Quinnipiac University’s Ballroom Society for donating the proceeds of their “Dancing with the QU Stars” event on April 5th to Meatball’s Surgery Fund. Meatball himself attended the event and frolicked with QU’s Bobcat mascot, had a wonderful time and was a big hit with the fans!
OVER $2,000.00 WAS RAISED!


Mexican Fiesta Night on March 12th brought in over $800. Thanks to Aunt Chilada’s Restaurant who hosted the fun night, DJs MP3 (Mark Carlo) for donating his DJ services, and everyone who supported the event!
