Doggie Door Fundraiser

With the escalating costs of heat and utilities, we are trying to make our shelter more energy efficient.  The dog flaps are an enormous source of lost energy. We’ve found an insulated dog door and are raising funds to purchase 14 energy efficient doggie doors. You could buy a door for $260 each and we would put up a plaque with your name on it.

Adopt a Dog – Save on Grooming!

Lucky Dog Grooming would like to reward people who decide to share their lives with a shelter or rescue dog. You will receive 50% off an initial dog grooming of a dog adopted from a local animal shelter or rescue organization when you show valid proof of the adoption.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Volunteer at various events, run a fundraiser or work on one.

Dog walkers needed to exercise our furry friends. Experience walking/handling dogs is helpful (younger children may be able to volunteer but must be accompanied by an adult).

Socialize cats by playing with them.

To volunteer at the shelter, stop by and fill out a volunteer application form.

Animal Haven alumni is a book star!

A new book by Marion Machetto called Honeysuckle Hill was recently released and it features a former shelter resident called Tupi. 

Tupi the kitty plays a major character in the book which is about an Indian tribe around the town of Shelton, CT. 

Tupi and Marion have generously offered to donate $3.00 to us from the sale of each book that is sold at the shelter.

Autographed copies are at the shelter available for sale. 

Raffle prizes needed!

Twice a year Animal Haven holds a permitted raffle and we are always seeking donated raffle prizes. 

We look for prizes that appeal to a wide audience.  Gift certificates to stores, restaurants, travel or entertainment venues, or gas cards are always a great prize.  Value should begin at approximately $50:00 and the sky is the limit for a maximum value!

Make a bequest in your will to benefit Animal Haven

Friends of Animal Haven can call Deb Wright  (203- 777-7073) at The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven to learn now to make a bequest in your will or create an endowed fund that will generate revenue each year for Animal Haven.

The Foundation currently administers several funds established by generous and loyal supporters of our shelter. Together, these funds distribute monies to help cover some of the annual operating costs of the shelter….helping us to keep our doors open.
