Board of Directors
A Board of Directors, which are all volunteers, governs
the Animal Haven, Inc. The Board’s fundamental responsibility
is to ensure that everyone connected directly or indirectly with
The Animal Haven understands the reasons for its existence: to
provide temporary shelter for homeless cats and dogs and to insure
quality adoptive homes. The Board must decide and ensure implementation
of The Animal Haven’s mission and purposes, current programs
and services, future programs, membership development, staffing
issues, financial projects, fund-raising strategies, public relations
and effective planning.

Assistants
There are four paid kennel assistants to provide daily care for
our needy friends and one caretaker that live on the premises.
The kennel staff is trained, professional and knowledgeable. The
staff is carefully selected based on their compassion and love
for homeless animals. They understand and advocate The Animal Haven’s
mission of kindness and respect for all animals. The staff is a
remarkable source of animal welfare information because we receive
over 150 calls each week regarding animal placement and adoption.
The Animal Haven’s Board of Directors works closely with
the staff.

Volunteers
Volunteers are the foundation of The Animal Haven’s existence.
Annually, over 500 adult and youth volunteers come to the Animal
Haven. All financial, administrative and maintenance duties are
carried out by volunteers. Many volunteers walk the dogs on our
peaceful walking path or play with the cats in the community cat
room. Some volunteers enjoy sending out handwritten thank-you notes
to donors or preparing goodies for bake sales. But no matter how
small or large of an effort, one thing is certain, the volunteers
have a true love for homeless cats and dogs. No other local animal
welfare group has a community outpour of volunteers like The Animal
Haven.
