The Animal Haven in North Haven was chosen as the 2016 Service Organization honoree by the Hamden Chamber of Commerce. Representatives of The Animal Haven received the honor during the Celebration of the 20th Annual Hamden Regional Chamber Choice Awards held on November 10, 2016 at Cascade Fine Catering.

Each year the chamber asks its membership for nominations for the award, according to Nancy Dudchik, chamber president. Nominees are successful businesses and community leaders that are actively involved in the community during the past year, emulating the chamber’s mission. Nominations are reviewed by the chamber’s board of directors and awardees are selected by a majority vote.
